Can Hamsters Eat Tea Leaves?

Tea is an aromatic beverage commonly prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured leaves so as to create a flavored drink.

After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world and as a result, is high in demand.

There are many different types of tea leaf; some teas, like Darjeeling and Chinese greens, have a cooling, slightly bitter, and astringent flavor.

However other tea leaves have vastly different profiles that include sweet, nutty, floral or grassy notes so as to cater for more varied tastes. (source)

So can hamsters eat tea leaves?

No they can’t unfortunately. They cannot handle the caffeine that tea leaves contain and it will harm them. Definitely something to avoid feeding to them.
