There are different types of red pepper, but in this post we discuss red bell peppers.

So can hamsters eat red peppers?
Let’s take a look at their nutritional data and find out more.
In particular, their acidic, water, sugar, fat, salt, calcium and phosphorus content is of most interest as far as hamsters are concerned.
As you can see, red bell peppers contain a hint of salt and fat, a little phosphorus and sugar, and a lot of acidic content.
This means that hamsters can eat red bell peppers, but only in small amounts on an occasional basis due to their acidic content.
Just make sure they are chopped up into small pieces and the seeds and stalk are stripped away.
