Last update April 5th, 2016. Orange peel is the pebbly skin that surrounds the flesh of an orange fruit. It is easy to peel and is easily detached from the main flesh of an orange.
It has a sour taste and is often used in culinary dishes and concoctions as orange zest where it is grated and spread sparingly to add flavor.
So can hamsters eat orange peels?
Unfortunately they can’t at all.
Any kind of citrus fruit, including oranges and their peel is not good for hamsters to eat. They will hurt their stomach’s and make them sick because of their acidity.
A food to avoid.
