Lucky Charms are a brand of cereal that is produced by the General Mills food company, and has been since 1964.

The cereal is made up of toasted oat pieces and multi-colored marshmallow shapes.

The label features a leprechaun mascot, Lucky, who is animated in commercials

There are three main flavors of lucky charms which are

  • original
  • chocolate
  • treats, which are made up of milk and soy ingredients.

The first boxes of Lucky Charms cereal contained marshmallows in the shapes of;

  • pink hearts
  • yellow moons
  • orange stars
  • green clovers.

The marshmallows are meant to represent Lucky’s magical charms.

Each lucky charm or marshmallow, has its own special meaning or “power” which as a result, gives the product its name. (source)

So can hamsters eat lucky charms?

Unfortunately lucky charms are not good for hamsters to eat due to their nutritional content.

Because of the sugar that they contain, they are just too sweet for hamsters.

In this case, they are much better off eating plain cereals which do not contain sugary foods in them.
