Can Hamsters Eat Cornflakes?

Cornflakes are a breakfast cereal consisting of toasted flakes made from corn. The cereal was first created by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg in 1894

They are usually served cold with milk and sugar
The plain flakes of corn have been flavored with salt, sugar and malt, and many follow-on products with additional ingredients have been manufactured such as “sugar frosted flakes”, “honey nut corn flakes” and others (source)
So can hamsters eat cornflakes?

Yes they can eat them in small amounts as long as they aren’t frosted or have additive flavorings in them.

Plain cornflakes are good for them to nibble on and wont cause any harm, but they shouldn’t be a substitute for their proper food. They should merely be a snack.
