Citrus fruits are those types of fruits which are cultivated on trees that belong to the same genus Citrus.
These types of trees are native to countries such as Australia, New Caledonia, and New Guinea.
However, they are today found across the world in many different warm climates.
Their fruit varies depending on the tree. Here is a brief list of citrus fruits:
Key limes, limes, lemons, oranges, tangerines, mandarins, pomelos, satsumas and grapefruits.
They are known for being acidic and very sweet in their character and taste.
So can hamsters eat citrus fruits?
Unfortunately they can’t. They are just too acidic for hamsters to eat and will hurt them if eaten.
