Last updated August 16th, 2016. Bread crumbs are small particles of dry bread, that are used for such culinary activities as;
- Crumbling foods,
- Topping casseroles
- Stuffing poultry
- Thickening stews
- Adding inexpensive bulk to soups
- Making crisp and crunchy covering for fried foods.
They are made from dry breads that have been baked or toasted to remove most of the remaining moisture.
They often have a sandy or even powdery texture. (source)
So can hamsters eat bread crumbs?
Yes they can eat them in small amounts, but nothing more than that.
It holds no nutritional value for them and so is not the best food for them.
However, bread crumbs are not bad for them all the same.
