Last update August 18th 2016. Bean sprouts are a common food eaten in Eastern Asian cuisine.
They are made from sprouting beans and from greenish-capped mung beans.
Other forms of common bean sprouts are usually yellow, larger-grained soy sprouts.
They usually take about one week to be completely grown and the sprouted beans are much more nutritious that the original beans and require much less cooking.
So can hamsters eat bean sprouts at all?
Yes they can in small amounts in moderation.
A few sprouts at a time would suffice for them to eat.
But don’t feed them cooked bean sprouts, only raw as cooked food is not especially good for them.
